FAQ: Installation by admin / power user

The preliminary installations of .NET framework and related components have to be done by an adminstrator. powerDOCUMENTS itself (powerDOCUMENTSsetup.msi can be installed by admin or power user (eg: on Windows 2000).
When installed by a power user the user installs for himself only. Other users will not be able to use the application by default.

When installed by an administrator the installation program asks whether to install for "myself only" or "Everybody". When installing for everybody other users on the same computer will be able to use it as well. This applies to power users.

If restricted users shall be able to use the application you need to give this user additional rigths in the filesystem (Write/Modify to 'c:\program files\klv\powerDOCUMENTS 2').

All this applies to the default installation only. You can use the Config to store the database in another folder.
