FAQ: Installation of multiple archives

powerDOCUMENTS can be installed to access multiple different archivs. Using this feature you can have multiple archives for different subjects. User access to each of these archives can be controlled individually.

To run multiple archivs: To create a second, third, ... archive:
  • Create a new database folder and copy an empty database in to it (eg.: powerDOCUMENTS.sdb as coming from the install set)

  • Make a copy of Config.xml and adjust / correct the contents to access the new db.
    The ConfigKey "dbPath" will always need to be changed.

  • Each user accessing the new archive should have an shortcut:
    Start-directory: network programs folder created
    Application: powerDOCUMENTS.exe -Cfg xxx
    (xxx is the path of the new config file, including filename and extension)
