FAQ: How to get rid of the example

Before you start to set up the document structure and keyword structure for your own knowledge base you will want to remove all the example data we put into the trial database to illustrate the features of powerDOCUMENTS.

You should NOT follow the outlined procedure if you have already entered valuable data into the database. In this case you will need to selectively remove documents and keywords you no longer need.

To get rid of these examples follow these steps:
  1. Remove example documents
Perform a fulltext search for 'example' (do NOT activate 'restrict to selected keyword'). As all our example texts contain this word this will give you a list with all the texts.
Delete all these documents (via menu or context menu).

  2. Remove own test documents
View a list of your own test documents (via fulltext search or keyword search) and delete these documents as well.

  3. Remove the structured keyword tree
Open tree edit dialog ('Documents' > 'Edit Keyword Tree').
Delete all the root nodes viewed.

  4. Replace the testuser
Within the user dialog you can rename 'testuser' to a more appropriate name. You can also change the password.

Always be sure to keep one active (not disabled) user with admin rights.
