FAQ: Changing to MS-Access database
powerDOCUMENTS does support different database types. Using the default
configuration the data is stored in an internal database (SQLite). The following steps
are neccessary to change to an database in MS-Access format.
- Use MS Access to create an completely empty MDB database file.
- Change configuration of powerDOCUMENTS to point to this new
database file (ConfigKeys: 'dbType', 'dbPath').
You can either use an editor to change the config file directly ('Config.xml') or
use the config dialog of powerDOCUMENTS.
- powerDOCUMENTS will initialize the new/empty database next time it is started.
Please be aware that these steps describe how to switch to an empty MS Access
database. Existing data from the old database is not converted / transfered.
